Founded in Tokyo in 2022, ecom lab is a conversion research and education studio focused exclusively on eCommerce product page design. We exist to close the gap between great products and the pages that should be selling them.
"Every great product deserves a product page that does it justice."
Too many exceptional products fail online not because of the product itself, but because the page selling it was designed by someone who didn't understand conversion psychology.
Our mission is to give every eCommerce team — from solo founders to enterprise brands — the knowledge, frameworks, and tools to design product pages that work as hard as their products.
We're obsessively focused on one thing: the gap between a customer's arrival and their purchase decision. Everything we publish, research, and build is designed to help close that gap.
These aren't corporate values we posted and forgot. They shape every article, every framework, and every recommendation we make.
Every recommendation we make is backed by test data, session recordings, or peer-reviewed research. We don't do "best practices" without knowing why they're best.
"Make your CTA stand out" is useless advice. "Use a minimum 4:1 contrast ratio and 48px height on a button with an action verb" is useful. We always go deep.
Every design decision gets evaluated through one question: "Does this make it easier or harder for a real shopper to make a purchase decision?" The answer overrides everything else.
CRO is not a project. It's a practice. We believe in the compound effect of continuous small improvements — running tests, learning, and iterating indefinitely.
The knowledge that turns a 1.5% conversion rate into a 4% conversion rate shouldn't only exist inside expensive agencies. We publish everything we learn.
We don't recommend tools we're paid to promote. We don't exaggerate results. If something doesn't work in our testing, we say so — even if it contradicts conventional wisdom.
